Hi

Am about to build a new A64 based games rig but am about half way through HL2 and don't want to start again . Where are the saved games stored and is it easy to transfer them across?

I have not tried to transfer saved HL2 games but have successfully done so with many other games......

Look in you half life directories for the one with saved games in. This is easy because it will be the ones with the most recent dates in even if you don't know what the files are called.

Copy the whole folder or folders to CD

Upgrade

Reinstall

Copy folder back into the same place as before.

Never failed except in the case of Roller coaster tycoon where I misses some sort of master log folder. Therefore have a search around for any other very new folders and make a copy just in case.

If you have trouble locating the file then do the following: Play HL2 note the exact time and do a save. Do a search for files created during these few minute and save it onto CD or floppy.
