Default What's the differenec between.... (ACPI PC's)

There are a few choices on F5 at Setup boot into XP

Which should be chosen and why.
Eldergeek is a little vague to the reasons, just says "likely" need one over the other..

*ACPI Uniprocessor PC

*Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC

Andy.
ACPI is used for a regular PC with one processor and the motherboard will only take one processor.

ACPI Uniprocessor is for a single processor but the motherboard may take 2.

Windows HAL layer often gets confused if you have a processor with HT technology or similar as it may choose Uniprocessor instead od ACPI PC by default.

If it has installed as a Uniprocessor you will be missing some power management features but other than that it should work fine. Its up to you. I did a reinstall on mine for the same reason. Depends how much time you have on your hands

I'll need to Install third party RAID drivers!

Will it be F5 First or F6 ??

I'm sure one more re-install wont hurt.

Cheers

Andy
