Pentium 4 3.0ghz showing as 1.5ghz?

Hello

I've just installed a new motherboard and a Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz processor.

From My Computer / Properties this shows as:

Computer:

Intel
Pentium 3 CPU 3.00Ghz
1.50 Ghz, 512mb Ram

Can anyone tell me why?

Make sure the FSB and the Memory is running at the correct speed in the BIOS

have you got a 533fsb chip in an 800fsb board

Yes, I hadn't changed some jumpers on the motherboard.

Although I just "guessed" at what they should be set to. They don't really make these things that easy.
