WHAT IS THE BEST CPU COOLER??????????????
Ive been studying the internet all night to try and find out what CPU cooler to buy.
I have a AMD Barton 2800 Processor and a Gigabyte Ga-7V Board with socket A attachment.
Tryed looking at coolermaster Jet 7 but not to impressed. I think its more for show than function
Toying with this one
http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/...roductid=17380
but still not keen!!
Anyone help??
Dont mind how noisey just want a really good effective fan
Thanks for any help
Ronnie

I managed to get my hands on an SP 97... this take a 92mm x 38mm fan.... he he he he... time for lift off !!
my cpu generally stay below 35'c.... under load with the fan wound up to it's MAX POWER ( oh no !! did i say MAX POWER - LOL )

Thats the fan I want!! But dont think it will fit my board. I havent got the 4 mounting holes on my board and it says they are escential. Does the backing plate convert it to fit my board??
If not would you recommend that I get another available Thermaright fan?
Thanks for the reply

the neo back plate was designed to assist with the extreme weight of the thermalright H/S, and in particular I believe the LAN party boards......
Unless you have holes around the CPU socket, that are designed speciically for this purpose, then I would do some EXTRA research !!
I've spotted another Thermalright on my travels, the SLK 900A .... this seems to be a 'clip on', rather than using the neo backplate.....
I believe these are no longer manufactured.... you'll probably have to keep a look out on ebay, or other auction site, or some forsale forums within the 'tekkie forums' .......
Got myself a tornando 92 x 38 .... what a beast.... you need a fan controller to turn the damn thing down....

Get a big Thermalright copper heatsink & then you don't need a hairdryer type fan. Stick a Vantec Stealth Fan on the heatsink & you will have an excellent cooling solution that is also near silent.

I've got anThermal Right XP120 + Vantec stealth on my FX53, and will have fitted an XP90 + Vantec stealth on my AMD3500 by the end of the weekend.
Basically very good cooling, and very quiet - just remember to order Artic Silver 5 at the same time, to use as the thermal compound.
