Thumbs up WinXP SP2 noExcute & UT2004 BSOD

Just incase it hasn't be posted before, there seems to be a workaround for the blue screen of death when exiting from UT2004 on AMD64 based systems.

Try editing the boot.ini in the root area on your Windows partition of your hard disk, so that the following is removed:

/noExecute=optin

Some suggest putting

/excute=optin

instead, but seems to work (for me anyway) without either.

Not great, because you are effectively disabling a new feature under WinXP + AMD64.. But seems to stop the dreaded BSOD .. well so far!

PS. the other option is to exit the game via the console, by typing:

disconnect
flush
exit

PPS. the boot.ini workaround will negate the new h/w based anti-virus stuff built in to the AMD64 - use at your own risk.

Seems the 71.20 drivers from Nvidia might fix this also.
