Wink Resetting an Ipod after Alpine HeadUnit fitment

Recently got a new Alpine Head Unit that's Ipod compatible with an adaptor, to plug the Ipod into. All was well to start, apart from having the music all over the place.

With help from a few people on here I managed to put the music into logical folders.

Then all of a sudden the Ipod appeared to lock up when fitted in the car. Headunit displaying the Ipod is attached, but none of the folders or songs can be accessed. At this point the Ipod display seemed to lock up, when removed from the headunit. It won't switch off or anthing

Just wondered if there was a simple way to reset or reboot the Ipod? Maybe I should deleted the Ipod and start again?

Thanks in advance, Phill

Press and hold the two middle buttons if it's the same as my one.

Thanks for that, just tried it on mine and BINGO!! Seemed to reset after about 10 seconds and the apple logo came up, so I can only assume it has rebooted. It seemed to be perminantly playing songs whenever I switched it on before. At least I can access the folders now (when not connected to the car)

Appears to be working on it own now fine, just need to try it in the car now

If you don't mind how much was the head unit and adaptor. I think it might be time for an upgrade.

Any Alpine Ai-Net headunit will work with the new Alpine adaptor. Adam M posted a thread in ICE asking how to do this. Think the adaptor itself is around the £30-40 mark.

All working fine again now thanks.

I got the Alpine CDA 9835R headunit for £380 (i think) and the adaptor for £60 with postage was about £440 delievered to the door.

LOVELY piece of kit. Already had two V12 fitted, and my Sony headunit pack up, which was handy. Loads the business mate...

Upgrade now, you know it makes sense. You MAY have to update the Ipod O/S but that reasonable straight forward. Mine was the older version that didn't interface to Alpine H/U. Took 10 mins.

Cheers Phill
