Default Windows Server 2003 and VPN

Can you help me?

Will any version of Windows Server 2003 support a VPN. Microsoft says that the standard version will partially support it but I cant find any other information than that.

Will the standard version be enough for a basic VPN setup?

Any help is appreciated.

What do you need the VPN to do? Is this a remote user (such as a RoadWarrior) that needs to connect to the server or are you connecting offices?

RAS is fine if a user has access to a seperate telephone line + you're network/server isn't exposed (as much) to security holes on the client.

To answer your question (sort of), I've no idea. I wouldn't use Windows for any VPN. Either I'd configure RAS as Puff suggests if it's a basic dial-in that's needed or I'd use a hardware firewall solution. Provided you have a budget of course

PIX firewall and VPN client works for us.

I've used Lanrover boxes set-up for dial-in and ISDN and Windows ISA server. Both work fine although they required more setting up.
