Is it true that the Steam servers are down?

I had a server busy message too. I rebooted and tried again and it all worked fine.
Now stuck trying to run away from the helicopter from hell

If you have a stateful firewall, you should not need to open any inbound ports..

Can say on xp sp2 firewall, havent got that..

I keep getting Master Auth server not found...but I kept trying then it sat for a few mins then gave a Winsock error!! lol Useless.....I rushed to Asda 2hrs ago to get this cos I couldn't wait for the d/l to finish....and now I can't play it anyway!!

Aha - got in - just keep trying....account active now so I'm off!!

hurray finally unlocked. The firewall is not the problem, the Steam network disappearing under all the load is.
