Question Which DVD Media?

Which media would you recommend for use with a Pioneer DVR 108?
I will use it to back up files as well as backing up some DVDs.
Dunno which work best with this drive + or - or the brands which are the most reliable.

Cheers,

Darren

for sheer value: http://www.diskdepot.co.uk/product_i...roducts_id=314 burnt a load of them on a 107 and 108 with not one fail.

http://www.diskdepot.co.uk/product_i...roducts_id=308 is a cracking disk also

-R imo is best. If you are backing up your movies more stand alone players will play - than +
If ScoobyDoobyBlue comes on he will give you the ins and outs

damatrix

if your Ridisc wern't burning properly, i'd be looking at your firmware in the first instance.

108's were shipped with firmware v1.06
the Ridisc do not perform properly unless the drive has been flashed with v1.10 or ideally 1.14

There is every possibility you got a bad batch. The majority of on-line retailers offer a blank media guarantee to some extent. Perhaps contact them to arrange swapping for replacements?

DVD-R is the better option if you have the choice. It's cheaper, more compatible and increased longevity (particularly CMC/MCC dye), if it's important data you're backing up.

As i mentioned, make sure you're using the latest firmware. Pioneer always support their drives to ensure you can use the widest variety of media types.

If you need talked through how to flash your drive, drop me a PM.
