Default Camcorder to DVD

Ok guys i have my Florida holiday on 3 60min comcorder tapes and want to get them onto my PC and then onto DVD anybody got any ideas as in how to do this.

My idea was to buy the lead to connect camcorder to PC but what software would i need to convert the files to DVD format cheers in advance becuse the good thing about this is there is ALLWAYS someone else who has done this before LOL !!!!!

Nero Vision Express is the one I use..........


But I bought a DVD recorder for under the TV and haven't looked back since... MUCH easier

.... obviously not edited, but it's straight onto DVD

I'd suggest Adobe Premier Elements. Circa £65.00. Easy to use and good results.

p.s. Make sure you configure it to PAL before you start. I've spent hours on my first project with it on NTSC and you can't change a project once it's started!

I think i might need a lead to connect my camcorder to my PC any ideas as to where i would get that ?

If you are using a digital camcorder, you'll probably need a Firewire bracket if your PC mobo already has a socket for it, or a Firewire card if doesn't. If you have one of the newer laptops, this is probably already built-in. If you are still using the older VHS or hi-8 analog camcorder, then you will need a video capture card to connect the video-out to. The audio output will just go to the line-in on the sound card. Just in theory at the moment, yet to do my first DV to PC conversion.
