annoying start-up thing

annoying start-up thing
Hi all
Just wondered if anyone could help in getting rid of these two bits on start-up of my pc.
after you have logged in, a 'my documents' folder opens up everytime.
and i also keep getting a 'search assistant' toolbar. I keep closing it but it keeps coming up evertime I start the pc up.
any help would be great
