seperate domain and hosting - HELP

Default seperate domain and hosting - HELP

i have a domain name and just signed up with a seperate hosting company, the hosting tells me to change the name servers for your doamin, how the hell do i do this, my domain is with 1&1

Hello

Does 1&1 have a "control panel" for your domain? I am with www.123reg.co.uk and I can log in and change the name servers to whatever I wish.

yeah it does have a control panel but cant find where you change the server name, at the mo it has a forwarding http address but when i change this is says error so i assume this isn't what i change

hang on, think its accepted it now, it said chnge to ns1.bargain-hosting etc etc but i had to put http in before it and has accepted this, does this sound right

is the forwarding destination the same as name server

ok, found it, under DNS, does thaving a DNS override the forwarding http one cos i cant delete whats in this bit
