Question SIAl - Broadband providers...

OK, so I've trawled through adslguide.org.uk

I just want a list of providers, the speed, contention ratio and cost.

Anyone any links?

Any providers who are happy to give home service to a business?

Just want wires only, cheap reliable BB.

Any comments on e7even.com?

Any other hot recommendations from someone not taking the pee on price?

Here are my recommendations;

E7even - http://www.e7even.com/
Plusnet - http://www.plus.net/
Demon - http://www.demon.net/
Nildram - http://www.nildram.net/
Bulldog - http://www.bulldogbroadband.com/ - I usually recommend these guys, but they seem to be going through a crappy patch atm, so u might want to ignore, good pricing though.
Freedom2surf - http://www.freedom2surf.net/
Supanet

Watch out for capping. Any 512KB service that is capped will usually be < £20 / mnth, but not worth using in my opinion. However some are uncapped and still < £20, E7 are one of the cheapest uncapped services and reliable.

Ask about email services, newsgroups etc (if u want it), static ip etc. The more services u can get included the better. Otherwise u might find it costs a little bit extra. For example if u want unlimited email mailboxes then u usually have to pay extra. On my account I get 3 email accounts as standard which is fine for me.

Something else to consider, most ISPS will tie u in for at least a 12mnths contract, some do 6, some have no limit.
