ADSL Modem/Router recommendations
Well, my 1MB Bulldog broadand is being activated today, and I'm looking into upgrading my wireless network. Currently running a 802.11b network, mostly for my laptop across my old 0.5MB line, and need to upgrade to the later 802.11g protocol for 2 machines and my Ipaq.
I've been using a Netgear combined modem/router/firewall device, and had no problems what ever for over a year. I'll need to purchase both a 802.11g equivalent, and a PCI card for the desktop machine to access the new network - can people suggest what to go for ? Looking at the Netgear DG834G 54Mbps WiFi ADSL Router at the moment, but there seems to be some issues with P2P downloading on it.

Hi,
I have the DG834G and it just works like it states on the tin. I gather it's not exactly feature loaded but it's non-complex (relatively).
If the desktop machine is anywhere near the router, run cable to it and spend £5-£10 on a 100Mbps NIC. Currently Netgear and other seem to be bundling PCMCIA cards or USB2 wifi NICs with their routers.
I don't know about P2Ping but you can get specs for firmware updates of Netgear's website.
If you want cheap, have a look on WWW.SCAN.CO.UK
