Siemens SX1 and GPRS on iPaq via Bluetooth
Right, I'm not stupid and have been working in IT support for too many years to count but this has me buggered....
Can anyone supply step by step instructions for getting an SX1 to act as a GPRS modem for an iPaq over bluetooth?
Three freakin days and still nothing...
Probably missing something very obvious but I'm now in that frustrated stage where I'm sure I've tried everything and I'm ready to toss it out the window.
Any guidance appreciated....

*think* this is generic as I have used it with a Nokia and SE phones...
First of all, get the Ipaq to pair \ discover services on the phone... dial up networking should be added..
Then setup a connection to dial the following number:
*99***1# - where 1 is the 1st GPRS connection setup on your phone... You may have an MMS gprs connection setup that you can connect to but won't be able to access the web, likewise with a "wap" only connection, so ensure it's a "web" connection.
Hope that helps,
Ian

I've got one of these - have tried for about 3 months to get GPRS access with my Palm - can't find a thing! Tried google and it generally produces German websites!
Good luck, but I think you are flogging a dead horse.
(btw if you don't have the Opera browser for it you should get it - excellent )
Cheers,

Right, got it and not my fault...
After getting a replacement phone under warranty and ensuring all the correct services had been subscribed to AND set up on the phone by O2, I now have the iPaq browsing the internet via GPRS on the phone.
Thanks very much for the pointers Puff, those settings came in really handy, especially the specific call number for Siemens that's listed there and nowhere else.

I'm in much the same boat. Swapped over to the SX1 from the S55 (which worked perfectly via Bluetooth with the iPaq) and am now stuck with being able to connect via the SX1 but not getting to see any web pages on the iPAQ. I actually got the SX1 from an O2 shop (one of the new music players - black coloured). Totally agree - the O2 website is rubbish and out of date.

Ferg, have you signed up for "o2 mobile web" and does it show up as one of your access points?
I had a mare until I got the link from Puff and follwed that, editing the number to match the one on the sheet that said SL55.
It now connects via bluetooth (to the phone in my pocket) and then "dials" the fancy number and I'm off.
Certainly helps kill the train journey....
