Lotus Notes Question
Oi Oi,
Wireless network is up an running and all pcs can connect to web and I can now share drives printers etc so that is great !!
I am now trying to access notes databases on the server from a laptop but get the following messages :
If I type the server address into the open database dialogue box it says :
The remote server is not a known TCP/IP Host.
Anyone got any hints ??
Cheers All

I'm not using it for mail. I am using it for sharing an invoicing database and a booking database, for which notes is outstanding afaik
And I've got it sorted now so I have the master database on a desktop and constant replication to a wireless laptop so i now can take all invoice and bookings information with me when travelling. I don't have to burn a copy onto CD to transfer now, which is nice !!

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
Can I ask why you are running lotus notes? It is not compatible with any other mail client at all really. Is there a reason you need notes?
The remote server is not a known tcp host normally is down to a problem with DNS.
Check that you can do an nslookup on the server name, if you cant then configure dns on the machine, or add an entry to the hosts file
servername ip add.
Dave W was spot on.
It was down to a dodgy connection document.
All salted now !!
Have server setup at home. Laptop has server and local replicas
When we travel - we work on replica then update on return.
Thanks
