Hi folks,

Looking at getting a new Xbox to use LIVE on (as my present one is modded).

Are there any deals on at the moment to get an XBOX WITH Live (the only one I know about is the one at Toys R Us, but they have none in stock at the mo)?

Thats the only one I've seen Shaun. Another option is to go for the £29.97 Plinter Cell:PT + XBox Live deal and get a console separately. Quite a few for console + one or more games for £99.99.

The Toys R Us deal was only the standard 2 months trial IIRC.

I still see some places with the Xbox + Halo + Midtown madness + live pack for £109.99, try Gamestation, Dixons/Currys/Comet, and WHSmiths

Are you sure you can't use your modded xbox on Live ? My 'box is modded and I'm about to order a live kit, I thought you could use a modded xbox provided the mod chip wasn't activated.

You can use it on Live, so long as the mod is switched off. Larger HDD's can be used too with no problems.

Absolutely true..... but unfortunately I have one of the original mod chips on, which means I am unable to do this I think.

Maybe I should change the mod chip instead?? Which is the best one at the moment.

Well, if you want the best, then you want the Xenium or the SmartXX, but they may be overkill for most users. For something a little simpler (not casting any aspersions ) go for the Xecuter Lite 2.6 & Xapter Solderless Combo.
