Default Floppy Disc drives

is there any need for these in this time and age?

neer fitted mine scince i changed my biege case for a black one and didnt have a black drive handy

i know there only a few quid for a black version, but do i even need one?

Not unless you have a specific need. Many machines (particularly laptops) now come without.

If you REALLY want a one, drop me a PM - I think I've got a spare black one in the box at home

Some bioses require a floppy to copy the bios .bin from. Like dual bios mobos. In fact if u need to update the bios u should be doing this from dos and a floppy anyway. Like u said as theyre so cheap, u might as well get one just in case.

Yep had to borrow an USB ext one to load my BIOS on a new build - pretty ridiculous really as the build instuctions said 'copy these files from this CD onto a floppy and switch on'. I also got a driver on a floppy the other day, but found that one as a download luckily. D

XP also need a floppy to load drivers for SATA HD's, no other way to do this.
