Copying a DVD onto my hard drive-how?
Please can someone tell me what software I require to archive my DVD's on to the HD of my pc? The cheaper the software the better!

Lots of really good guides and links to all the software you'll need.
In essence you have 2 choices:-
Copy the DVD in its original form - either as a complete disk image ("iso") you can mount that will looks just like the disk - or - copy the actual files. Mosts DVD players will let you play from a directory. Either way you'll need 4 Gb per disk.
Re-encode the DVD to a different compression to make it take less space. Could be as little as 700Mb (but greater compression is obvious and you'll probably lose the 5.1 soundtrack and get Stereo MP3 or similair). Personally I crerate 2Gb DivX files using the orignal AC3 soundtrack. For playback via Xbox + XBMC.
