DUN Password recovery
I *think* it stores the password in a .PWL file. Not sure if you can view that without some sort of recovery tool though.
What are they dialling into? Can't you (or them) just get the account password reset on the dial-up server and then enter the new one on their laptop?

Ozzy, that would be too easy for someone to record it. I have to get this password back come hell or high water, and I dont have a shred of information to begin with more than the account is with onetel. I dont even know the account name as the user was too thick to even tell me that!!

Stueyb,
You're talking as if Windows 98 is actually secure, LOL
Onetel should be able to reset a password if you can confirm account details. I'm sure any billing records would have the info required to get this authorised.
If you really have to read the password off the laptop, then you need to use the recovery tools. And yes, it *is* that easy.
