Question Wireless won't connect

Hello,

I am having quite some difficulty connecting to my wireless network.

It was working alright yesterday and today it starts to play up!!

The problem is I am getting an error nessage telling me there is more than one network available. I check to see the available wireless networks; sometimes there is one there to highlight, sometimes there aren't any

When there is one there I usually allow to connect even if it isn't secure but that doesn't help. I have tried disabling then enabling the connection, restarting the laptop and taking the card out of the port and putting it back in again (that does actually work sometimes!!). I'm not exactly a whizz so am at loss as to what to try next.

The only changes I have made to my system since the last time it worked was downlading Mozilla Firefox Browser.

I am probably missing something really obvious here; please can you help?

Many thanks

Claire

Lo PJ

Try rebooting the router / wireless access point.

What make and model is the router / access point?

Are you allowing XP to manage the wireless network?

'lo PS

Its a Dell TrueMobile 2300 wireless broadband router

The router gets switched off at night anyway because Grandad doesn't want plugs left in over night. I have argued against it but there is no bloody telling him.

Yes XP is managing the network.
