Default changing route options on microsoft autoroute

clicking on Route (next to File Edit View Data), down the drop down menu to more options, i change driving speeds, fuel, and costs to what i want. Problem is every time i use autoroute it goes back to defaults. Is there any way to make , for example, the costs to stay at 81 pence per litre or have i to change everything every time i go on autoroute.
cheers

Make the changes to a blank map, then save the map as a template - probably "New European Map.axt"

AutoRoute 2004:

Change the default template
Whenever you open a new AutoRoute map, it is based on a default template (New European Map.axt) with specific settings. If you want to change these settings, you can do so by changing this default template. For example, you can change the default template so that it shows the Route Planner pane, is zoomed into a specific map area, and is set to the political map style each time that you open a new map.

Create a new map or modify an existing map with the features you'd like to see whenever you open a new map.
How?

On the File menu, click Save As.
Click the arrow next to the Save as type box, and then choose Map Template from the list.
In the Save in box, browse to Program Files\Microsoft AutoRoute \Templates, and click New European Map.axt.
Click Save.
When prompted about replacing New European Map.axt, click Yes.
Your map replaces the AutoRoute default template.
