Default Internet Connection Sharing and iBook...

Hi,

My Windows XP desktop is connected to the internet vis ISDN - I've added my iBook to the network and enabled ICS. I've set the XP IP to 192.168.0.1 and the iBook to 192.168.0.2 with the router being 192.168.0.1 but the iBook still won't connect to the internet....! Anyone got any ideas plaese???

Sounds obvious, but are you using a crossover network cable between the PC and Mac?

No, got a mini hub - got it sorted now anyway, hadn't set the dns to 192.168.0.1!! Doh! One other question - is it possible to open .txt files in OSX? How?

.txt just means it's a text file, of course OS X can open it Double-click it or open TextEdit/insert-any-editor-here and load it into that.

txt files can just be double clicked as said above
