MAFFA

Only over the last couple of days but I can only assume it's the processor. If I try to create a DVD in Cyberlink Powerproducer or Create a movie in Pinnacle Studio the CPU usage history stays at 100% in task manager even with no other applications open. After a period (varying from 10 to 40 minutes so far) the computer shuts down. Well it doesn't totally shut down as the power light flashes & the power button doesn't work I end up having to switch it off at the mains & waiting 5-10 minutes before switching it back on otherwise the same occurs again whilst trying to log back into windows.

Anyone got any ideas as i've defragged the hard drive & also run every application possible in Norton Systemworks to try & fix it?

Another thing is that i've noticed explorer.exe in the processes occasionally maxes out the processor as well?

Any suggestions appreciated, except "buy a Pentium 4!" LOL
