Through the wall?

Through the wall?
What are my chances of getting a wireless network to work when I have some walls 2.5 foot thick? I'm guessing slim to none but the baby monitor and the digital cordless phone both work through the wall.

The one we have at work has several wireless 802.11b (11mbs) that work over 150ft and through seven foot thick concrete walls with 90-95% signal.
I had to change the channel several times to get this mind you, so it might not work straight out of the box.
Also the main things that block signal are not conrete but reflective metals, plastics and other signals, e.g. microwaves, mobile phones and other electrical ****.
Normally the faster you buy the shorter the distance the signal travels.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.
I don't live in a castle but my office is in the original part of the house which was a stone built cottage. I know how thick the wall is cos I had to drill it to put a telephone cable through.
I think I'll give it a try.
