McAfee has detected a virus only on reebot after system restore. (it told me to use ActiveX?)


I ran up to date McAfee Virus Scan and latest Stinger to no avail. (before sys. res.)

What do I do???

PC is so slow!!!

Firstly son, have a cup of tea.

Next, let me know what virus it found.

If it found a virus after System Restore, then it's pretty likely you're restoring to a point where you had a virus.

Now, what's making your restore in the first place?

Didn't find it after restore. Just tried that to see if it would help.

W32 Netski summit (Stinger found two traces and deleted)

All apps ultra slow and affecting e-mail.

McAfee Virus scan also very very slow and didn't seem to find anything.

Will run Stinger again to see if it comes up with anything.

Ran Stinger/McAfee again along with Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper. All show up clear.

Also have ran AVG and that shows no virus.

Laptop is still ultra slow!!!

What else should I do?
