Default Mini iPod stock update

Thought it might be useful for you to all knw that Mini ipods are shipping but in tiny numbers. We've had a hundred or so on the 24th out of the thousands we ahve on order. Pink is by far the most popular for some reason. Whilst the mini iPod range is in constraint we have had notification that Apple are shipping 25 blue mini ipods and when I left work today we only had 16 backorders. Most other colurs are coming over but in quantities far less than the current backorders.

So you may find they have more blue than anyother colours so if you are not too fussed blue may be the way to go.

Hope this is useful.

Blue is really nice.

My Girlfriend was desperate for a pink one, but in the end a blue was all I could get hold of at the time. It seems the pink is very popular with the girlies unsurprisingly.

Allan, do you know if Apple will support US players in this country?

I dont' really see the point of the mini one, the big ones is still tiny compared to something like a mini-disc player, and what is 4 gig's in this day and age egh? You can get a gig on an SD card which is basically a chubby postage stamp still my bird wants a pink one, and she wears pink shoes, maybe that has somethign to do with it. (vain cow)

Yeah I reckons the 20Gbs are good value and they should be here soon, the Gen4 version. As far as I know ( and I could be wrong) Apple will support ipods bought in the outside the UK. Not sure if the dealer channel can help and you may have to deal with Apple directly on this which is fun !

It works fine at the mo, but I just wanted to check. Just in case. Ta for the info.

Have to agree, as nice and cool as the mini is, the 20 gig is very good value for money at the moment.

Best get both though, just to be sure.

So glad I did not get one the other week, would have been gutted as the G4' came out. Some fantastic deals over here on the G3's.

I am told that 60GB's are on their way, Tosh is having some drive problems, once sorted, we should see 60GB iPods, yummy! As to what the line up will then be, well, I think we'll see the old 3 ipod range. 20, 40, 60.

Did play with a mini at the weekend, thought I'd break it though, was so close to telling a few people purchasing them that they were totally suckered by them and they really wanted a G3 'regular' iPod for the same price.

Aye, think I am gonna go for a 40 GIG one, I have 20 gigs of MP3's now, and I have a stack of CD's to back up, and at some point, I need to back up my vinyl (pain the **** task), plus I will carry on collecting music, so will have ****e loads fairly soon.

But 20 gigs is more than enough, you can have quite a few long play lists, and just update it before you go out. Tis a nice thought to carry around every bit of music you own (ahem or have access too) in the world, in your pocket!

The other factor I consider is that I'll use it to backup my home folder from my Mac, as well as my gigs worth of music.
