Default Problems installing windows

I'm having a right hard time with this laptop.

I have fdisked the disk, and when i boot from the xp (or windows 2000) cd, and try to install either operating system, i get the blue setup screen and it gets to the bit that says " setup is starting windows 2000", and it just freezes, seems to do nothing.

Any ideas, it's driving me mad

Cheers

Andy

check the RAM, if there's a stick in there, remove it and try again.

When you boot from the CD, when it says "press F6 for..." press F5 instead. In a while it will give a choice of HALs to use. Choose "standard pc".

This might help, if the memory didnt tehen try looking at your bios settings and disable internal cahe and os being PNP.

Lets us know how you get on!
