I know a ton of people getting various screw ups with IE6 at the moment.
Program refusing to start or crashing as soon as it has
Program crashing mid-way through surfing
Anyone agree ?
I'm recommending people switch to Netscape 7.x as it seems a LOT more stable

If you want to try something else, I'd try Mozilla Firefox (Netscape is just an old rebadged Mozilla browser anyway). Note that even this still has security flaws however, so make sure you keep it up to date....

nothing to see here people
Iain is right though, steer clear of Netscape, a move to one of the Mozilla incarnations is a much wiser move. Firefox is especially good. Although they still have security flaws, they aren't built into the OS so they can't do the same kind of damage an IE problem could.

Those hackers are clever little (insert your choice of expletive here). As firefox becomes more popular, the more the hackers will target it, and so the more of these problems will be exposed....
Having said that, I still prefer Firefox to ie. I just wish all the websites etc I use would support it properly (banking sites for example).

Using Firefox 0.9.2 which seems OK - haven't come across too many sites that don't work. I think things will change as use of IE declines. Companies will need to make their site more friendly to other browsers.
