Goto www.pocketgps.co.uk and click on 'Points of Interest' . You will also need to download a program called Checkpoint or similar to get audio and visual warnings.

Have you installed microsoft activeSync on your PC to link the PDA to it?

Then click "explore" in ActiveSync, select the file to move, then click "move this item"
send it to your CF card or wherever your map of GB is stored

Download CheckPOInt and install on your PDA. Also download POI Edit to your pc and select the speed camera db from pocketgps, and it will automatically update it! Make sure ActiveSync is running all the time!

ok seem to be getting there slowley lol

when intalling checkpoint etc it you have to:

Extract the ZIP file contents to a directory on your PC

Dock the Pocket PC in the Cradle and check ActiveSync has an active connection

In ActiveSync click EXPLORE, MY POCKET PC, STORAGE CARD, GREAT_BRITAIN NAVIGATOR MAP

Copy the POCKETGPS_UK_SC.OV2 and POCKETGPS_UK_SC.BMP to the \STORAGECARD\GREAT)BRITAIN NAVIGATOR MAP directory and overwrite any files you may have.

NOW I HAVE GOT TO THE PART WERE GO EXPLORE IN ACTIVE SINC, THEN TO POCKET PC THEN OPEN GB MAPS ETC LIKE IT SAYS, BUT I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME WORK OUT HOW TO COPY THE TWO FILES TO THE BRITAIN NAVIGATOR MAP FILE

I HAVE TRIED SERACHIN MY PC AND DRAGGING THE FILES INTO THE BRITAIN NAV MAP BUT NO JOY

Open one window in explorer, go to My Mobile Device, and navigate to the CF or SD card (whichever the map is on) and open up the GB directory.

Open up a new explorer window to where you have those files - drag and drop

thank think im geting somewere now.

right i have checkpoint installed and ive opened it on the ipaq and set all the settings apart from cant seem to find any wav files for voice warning

i have gpa assist installed on the ipaq which i opened but in the instructions online it says:
Installing Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database

Start GPSAssist
Tap POI-MANAGERS

NOW THIS IS WERE IM HAVING THE PROBS, AS ONCE IN POI MANAGER THERE ISNT ANYTHING LISTED AND I CANNOT FIND ANY?
THE FILE BELOW THAT HAS TO BE SELECTED HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED ETC AS IT SHOWS IN THE OVERLAY SETTINGS IN THE CHECKPOINT PROGRAM

IM STUCK FROM HERE
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Select POCKET_GPS_UK_SC

If you have had a previous database installed select DELETE and then OK. If this is the first database you've installed goto step

Select --OV2-- POCKETGPS_UK_SC

Tap ACTIVATE to start importing the Pocket GPS Camera Database into GPSAssist

When egg time has disappeared, tick SYNCHRONIZE WITH TTN

Tap MENU

Tap POI DETECTOR

If POCKETGPS_UK_SC doesn't have an X next to it in the Active column (right), highlight POCKETGPS_UK_SC and tap ACTIVATE

Make sure the ACTIVE green button is showing above MENU. If it's showing RED and INACTIVE tap it to toggle to GREEN.

Doesn't seem like the way I did it with mine

All at home though so can't remember.

As for the checkpoint wav files, you need to create your own wavs to use with the POI, save em on the card in a wav dir or something and then point checkpoint to them for the appropriate 1st and 2nd warning.......

Thats weird, so you go into tom tom setup, first load the software and follow any instructions.... You should then, using the same installer, install the maps, selecting the storage card as the location, again follow any messages and that should be it. Active sync running all the time you do that............

So at the mo you prob isn't the POI, but tom tom not seeing the GB maps?

have you registered with http://poiplace.oabsoftware.nl/index.php you can then syncronize your PDA directly to the site and it all done quite easily from there, much easier than downloading the POCKET_GPS_UK_SC

You can use POI Edit to sync with the pocketgps_sc so you don't have to mess about either!

With your IPaq docked, activesync running and the IPaq + PC on!
ON THE PC: open windows explorer, go to my computer and then select the 'mobile device'
On there you will see 'My Pocket PC', double click it and you'll see the 'SD Card'
Double click and you'll see 'Great_Britain Navigator Map'
Double click and that is where you put the ov2 files

Or follow the instructions on pocket gps!
