Installed a video capture card and software earlier which seemed to work well to start with recording to mpeg files from sky but it seems to have stopped recording the sound. There is definately sound going into the unit because I can plug speakers straight into the line-out but just no sound on the recording.

Sure its something simple but its driving me mad

Depends on the software you're using, but mosyt capture software has a setting to set the port which you capture audio from. On my setup, I capture from "Line in 2". It's possible that you are listening / capturing from the wrong audio in socket?
