My Inlaws are moving to Spain and will not have a landline at their new place until the Spanish BT get round to it in about a year

They obviously want to keep in touch with their kids/Grandkids and one of the other Ex-pats has suggested a laptop to mobile link.


They will be buying a laptop to do this and and mobile when they get out there.

Question is what do they need to get?

Wired?, Bluetooth, Nokia, Ericson?????

I would say depends on what laptop they get. I used to have my cousin set up with infrared and her nokia 8210 & 8310 it is really easy.
My own laptop has bluetooth so I use bluetooth to connect.

My own opinon would be, it depends on how much money you are going to spend.
Al lot of cheap mobile phones have infrared ports and a lot of older laptops have infrared as well. If it is for a short period of time I would got that route.

More modern laptops/expensive laptops will have bluetooth and a lot of the modern phones have bluetooth as well.
