When I try to load up programs, say Adobe (.pdf files), word processing programs, prog. for my camera etc, most times they don't even load up or they just freeze and I have to do the ctrl alt & delete and it says they arn't responding

Anyone konw how to get them to load up .. .. ..

I'm sure it's clear now how facked my comp is..
