Question FAO Jack Clark - McAfee Guru

Hi Jack

You convinced me to get McAfee Internet Suite 6.0 a couple of months ago, and very happy I am with it since then I have had to get a new PC and have installed the McAfee on the new pc which runs on XP Pro (previous machine ran on win2000Pro, I don't know if that makes any difference), I now have a problem and wondered if you knew the answer, When sending e-mails that have attachments I am getting a message up saying possible worm attached, I click "continue with what im doing" and still it wont send the e-mail, this was just a photo of my daughter and an Excel spread sheet which I know are both clean, if I turn off the McAfee it shoots through no problem, I have singularly disabled each sector of the Internet Suite but still it wont send the e-mail unless I disabled every sector at the same time, do you have any ideas what may be causing this, I'm sure it's simple but i'm buggered if I can see it.

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Dave

That's an interesting one. Never heard of it myself, will have a word tomorrow in the office and get back to you.

Dave, no one seems to know much here either. Can you go to VirusScan | Options | Advanced | WormStopper and disable wormstopper. It should be worm stopper that's triggering the alert but it should only trigger on a certain pattern of sending - like 20 of the same email in a number of seconds.

Dave, can you send me a PM with your email address, I have a file to send you that may fix your problem.

Hi Jack

I'll drop you a PM, I played around with it last night and stopped the "wormstopper", although I haven't seen the "worm" notification "pop up" since it still wont send attachements.

Cheers
