Default Problem with device drivers?

Hi guys/gals
I downloaded some music to listen to last night,went to play it and got
"cannot play file" error code 0xc00d11ba
your sound device in use by other program=checked and isnt
2.your sound device not functioning properly trouble shoot=done no problems
3.you do not have sound device installed=checked,updated and is present

real confused here guys,could it be the speakers are just shot?

I wouldn't have thought it would have anything to do with the speakers. Maybe worthwhile to reinstall the soundcard drivers you have (Assuming you have them) or better still,get the latest drivers off the web,download to your PC and install/upgrade....

Thanks for the advice,do you know of a good sound card and were i can go for it m8(im a bit of an amateur ) cheers bud
