I am forever getting emails to my domain (some inc viruses ) addressed to 2 people whose names are completely irrelevant, unknown blah.
Not a problem in the real line of things but those with " = " followed by a string of characters are not pulled down by my POP mail collector, causing a jam of other important stuff. I then have to jump on the web mail client of Demon to delete them before I can pull down my emails.
Tedious enough when it was 1 or 2 a week but its now 10+ a day coming in helped no doubt by recent email harvesting viruses!
Is there any way I can bounce these emails somewhere from Demon's servers or any other way to stop them getting there? Is there a "black hole" I can send them to?
I can't just create an email addy to send them to as this is against AUP.
It is tedious to say the least and at the moment, I don't want to enable the SMTP feed to my firewall, as all I'll be doing is actually receiving this cr@p (inc viruses). OK, so I could do then just delete but I'd rather not get it at all.

Problem is with Outlook Express here. I loaded up spamkiller, let that pick up the mail then pass it to OE and everything went through fine. Managed to take out 60% of the crap as well. If you want a copy send me a PM.

Thanks Jack - just bought PC PRO & found it on the cover! Though poss not the up to date version
I'm thinking about registering an online web mail account & just bouncing the stuff at it until it overflows & they reject new emails to sender. Would that go back to Demon or the "from" person?
I *might* hack someone off with that maybe? Any possible pitfalls?
I should just bite the bullet & let the SMTP feed into my server & remove from there with AV & anti-spam stuff maybe - or a rule for that matter seeing as how they are all spam/viruses

The bounces will go back to you as the sender. However, you could blacklist your own email address on your webmail account whereby your mail will sit in your caughtspam folder there, but then you may not be able to mail anyone that uses that provider's services You may also get responses back telling you the account is over quota if you let it fill up, that will depend on the implementation.
You need your own MTA if you want to use email effectively, I'd hate to not be able to manage my own mail server. Unless, somehow, spam is stopped, it will be the death of email.
