Concurrent use of more than one USB modem?
For the purposes of some testing, I am required to use three or more 52k USB modems concurrently, and have discovered this is impossible via a USB hub. Only the initally connected modem can get a dialling tone. (Logged as COM3).
Is this some problem with sharing the IRQ?
The answer is supposedly a multiport USB card, but no one can say whether this will end up giving me the same problem!
Can someone confirm the suitability of such a card in allowing mulitple USB modems concurrent use?
Anyone done something similar, and recommend a specific card?
Cheers,
Squizz.

Hi Mate,
I haven't tried this specifically. However, I used to have a single USB socket on my PC and then a 4 port hub. Connected to the hub was my cable for my digital camera, a webcam, a scanner and a printer.
The webcam wouldn't work if I had used the digital camera unless I rebooted first.
I've since fitted a 4 port USB card to my machine and now all four devices work fine.
Whether that is at all relevent, I don't know.
Got a 4 port card from PCWorld in town. DLink was the maker IIRC.
Cheers
Ian

Okay, thanks for that. Although this is a work issue, our IT Support team are too busy working themselves towards "The vinegar stroke" to have a clue about this!
I'll use some of my own time this weekend, and enquire of the PC World brigade.
Cheers.
