Been updateing all my critical updates for XP and its taken hours and hours (dial-up!)

Does anyone know where these files are downloaded to - so I can back them all up incase the PC goes **** up again?

I didn't find this until I'd spent hours on a 56k dialup downloading them all

Security CD dates from September and is well out of date by now.

SP2 is still a Release Candidate - use at your peril (mind, you could say that about about any SP )

I've not used it myself but AutoPatcher will take a single download of all post SP1 patches for you. Still a hefty download the first time though.

I've got an SUS server at home for building new PCs off.

I've got all the Windows XP updates on my SUS server next to me. Tell me the fix number, something like Q2938472394 and I'll pop them on a CD if you like.

Generally they are saved in a folder called WUTemp in the root of the C drive.

I can still give you the upto date ones on CD if you like.
