Linux - mouse & keyboard not working
Morning all,
I have a Belkin KVM with PS2 mouse and keyboard attached, which then goto my home machine and laptop via USB cables.
I recently installed Suse 9.1 and all was well, until I re-configured X using the SAST control centre.
Now I can't get my mouse and keyboard to work at all!
If I boot Knoppix then they both work, I've edited the XF86Config so that the mouse section on the SUSE machine is the same as the Knoppix one, but still no joy. I also copied over the XF86Config-4 file, but that didn't help either.
Anyone got any clever ideas? I can mount my SUSE partition from Knoppix and edit files etc.
cheers,
Greg

Greg,
i have a Belkin OmniView KVM, and my out-of-the-box SuSE works fine initially, but if you switch away and then back - the mouse goes haywire
Not had time to track down the reason - but i am interested in knowing anything about SuSE, KVMs (and indeed Windows, which seems to lose the wheel-mouse on switching).
Cheers,
mb
p.s. Howz trix?

Hi Martin,
Gave up on Suse, now running Mandrake 9.2 happily switching between windows and Linux using the KVM
these are the relevant bits from my XF86Config-4 which work on Mandrake
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "Keyboard"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "gb"
Option "XkbOptions" ""
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/usbmouse"
Option "Emulate3Buttons"
Option "Emulate3Timeout" "50"
Option "EmulateWheel"
Option "EmulateWheelButton" "2"
EndSection
