Could be many things Jon.
First, check your power settings. make sure the pc isnt set to turn itself off after any inactivity.
Secondly, check for viruses. a couple of the major viruses that were going around a few months back actually restarted your machine.
if its none of the above then you might want to check power supply is connected properly to your disks, you may have a loose connection.

Along the virus theme...
Are you getting a system message before the machine shuts down?
A few of the recent virii give you 60second shutdown warning. They seem to be triggered by online activity or antivirus start-up.
If you can:
1) Update your virus definitions
2) Disable System Restore (unless using Win2K)
3) Reboot in safe mode
4) Run anti-virus software to remove infection

The other possibility, your not with Telewests blueyonder broadband and using a particular USB cable modem which they supplied but I cant remember the make of it. A few people I know have had the problem that the computer shuts down without warning after approx 5mins of being on the net. Its due to a new software patch they rolled out recently, all the details will be on the Blueyonder support pages along with its fix.
