Minor problemette with older version of McAfee on XP Pro
Hi,
Recently got a new computer and put XP Pro on it. I used the same McAfee anti-virus SW I had under W2K and had bought a couple of years ago. (The old computer is now going to be a Linux box so no piracy there ....). It has tha ltest DAT and Engine updates and catches all the viruses that arrive so saw no need to change.
However, when I now log in on the XP machine there is always a 'VShield Status' window on the screen. This never used to be there and there doesn't seem to be any way to control it. I tried McAfee support and their reply said my SW version was no longer supported. Gee ta .......
Anyway, has anyone seen this problem and, if so, know what to do about it? It's just annoying having to zap the window every time I log in ....
