Default web restrictions at work

our site has banned the download of zip files
unfortunately it's quite comprehensive and i haven't managed to work out a subtle way of downloading them.

what does work is download accelerator, but if i'm found using that, i'll get a b0ll0kin.

Anyone know how they do that so that i can emulate it in vb. do they use their own proxy and rename the files from the proxy to the client? ie; are they no longer zips when they download to the client pc's d/l accelerator?

Try renaming the .zip to something else on dload, then rename back again when finished Unless it blocks b4 u can even get the dload window. U could use a HTTP tunneler to get around this though.

Oh and then get sacked Remember all clicks are monitored.

fosters,

easiest solution is to post the links to the files you want and let your fellow SN'ers get em and rename em and upload em again! O what shall we say, £10 a file????

Hmmm progamming wise, couldnt you initiate an ftp/http connection and stream it into a local file with a different name, on the FTP component Ive got (for delphi) I can specifiy a host and localfile name, maybe theres a VB activex ftp control which might do the same?
