Default Web design - online payment options?

I am doing a little freelance work and part of the plan is to have a online payment option, purchasing a single product, fairly basic.

I have not done anything like this before, what options do I have?

TIA

paul

My site has a link to paypal which is fairly straightforward. Fills in all my details and they just put in the payment details. Go have a look at www.paypal.com and they give you the example code to put in your pages, and all the pretty logos!

Do either of those solutions return an email back to the sellers with postage details for example?

My client is looking to sell a single item via the website, I am hoping that upon purchase an email with the buyers details (name/address etc) will be returned to my clients enabling them to confirm payment and send out the goods?

Yes its been a while since I first posted this thread, only just got the sodding designs signed off!!!! CEOs!!!!! Now hes come back to me and wants the online payment scenario working before friday, which only leaves me this afternoon to get it done as im working for the next few days! argh!

Thanks

Paul

Yes, I *think* WorldPay can do that. I've done something similar. However, I passed the shopper's details back to my webserver and assembled/sent the email from there (rather than from the WP server). Since you have the ability to pass paramaters back to your server you can do all sorts of data-driven things. Like update a database, send emails... whatever.
