Red face Sasser !!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the Sasser virus on my work laptop earlier today. Easy to remove but work tomorrow is going to be a real nightmare. We have 1000 unpatched machines (3000 patched) Just thought I would have a whinge before the mayhem begins.

Default damn thing...

best of luck m8. I saw an XP machine with it today - it crashed the LSASS thereby kicking the machine off the network. This of course meant that the pc couldn't be updated using the patch on the fileserver. Chicken - egg etc

Thankfully SUS had updated all the other machines...

Out of interest, what do you use for patch management/deployment/verification?

I am led to believe by all the MS bluff that SUS works fine across domains (I know for a fact it will feed my machines in a workgroup - ie outside the domain).

Are you gonna make my day and tell me it doesn't feed cross domain! :-( (or do you mean to another domain in another forest?)

Please tell me what you know!
