Everyone is out buying new PSUs given the power requirements of the thing.

I hear Ebuyer will start offering DIY nuclear power stations (section next to water cooling)...

If you look at the hardocp preview the gains from the 6800 Ultra doen't seem to be that great over the 9800XT. The ATI 420 when its released next week will be quite interesting and the XT version of that at the end of may will probably be a bit of a monster...

I reckon PowerGen should sponser the 6800U

Interesting scores from hardocp, though they are not comparing like for like in some tests. Anandtech has a good review. Can wait to see what the 420 will do.

You would have to be daft to pay that. But then I expect many people too do so, especially considering the performance increase.

Indeed, though some like to live on the bleeding edge.

Look at Radeon 9800 Pro's - now circa £130 having been £100 more sub six months ago.

I'm still running a GeForce 4Ti and it does everything I want. Don't think I'll be upgrading till these come down in price a bit....

Going on Toms special Doom3 preview I bet - 60fps at 1600x1200, Max detail with no AA on latest rig - woo hoo

Correct winner gets 6800U Competition closes Dec 31st 2007, no one from Nvidia, ATi or ID can enter
