Auto tasking in windows?
Hi All
We have a management system here at work that we need to adjust the screen resolution on at hometime every day then back again the following morning so that another site can manage it. Is there any way in windows that you can set a task to change such a thing at say 5 o'clock at night and change it back in the morning? If not is there any software that allows you to automatically do this?
BTW the machine in question is running 95 due to it being an old system
Thanks

Wouldnt it be easier to login to the machine from another location remotely if youre not there, and change it yourself? ie. PCAnyhwere, Radmin etc.
I suppose u could use a script or batch file and a utility to do it, but thats messy and not fullproof. Like Multires, Res Changer, Vidres;
Info here:
http://www.entechtaiwan.com/multires.htm
e.g c:\multires\multires.exe /800,600,32,85 /exit
You need to write a script to incorporate scheduling at the times u want though. Or simply run a batch file with the above command in it, on a win95 startup.
OR put the batch file into the win95 task scheduler, yeh, that would work
Failing that tell the clueless users how to do it, its not rocket science to change the resolution
HTH

Clueless muppets are what are causing the problem They like the resolution set one way but it's not visable remotely using the system we are using. God knows why we aren't using PC anywhere
I'll have a look at multires and let you know. Wish me luck
Thanks
