Help needed with Camera Installation
I have just fitted a new hard drive in my PC, and installed microscam 2000. Everything has installed itself properly with the exception of my digital camera, which strangely was the only piece of kit I DIDN'T have trouble installing on the old ME hard drive.
Every time I connect the camera to the USB port, the 'found new hardware' wizard pops up to tell me that it has detected the device, then doesn't even give me the option of telling it where to look for the drivers, it goes straight to telling me that 'The installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device instance'.
1. WTF does that mean in english?
2. How do I tell the f**kwitted PC where to look for the drivers?
The camera is a Fuji Finepix 2400Z

Click start right mouse on my computer choose properties, then hardware tab, device manager, something should have an exclamation icon on it click this and choose update driver.

Cheers Mr Cookie, I have just tried that, the wizard appears to believe that the software that came with the camera isn't correct.

I have a Fuji as well, but no problems whatsoever running iton xp.
Silly question, have you been through the installation on the cd BEFORE plugging the camera in?
If that fails, I would uninstall it and try again.

Have come across another problem now though, when I disconnect the camera, an ico comes up 'unplug/eject hardware' clicking this icon appears to shut down all my USB gear, not just the camera

I know this i'll be a pain in the **** to do all the time but if you disable it in device manager before you unplug it that should work, and plug it in then enable in device manager to reconnect, alternatively down by the clock on task bar is there a safely remover hardware option (it's on win xp not sure bout 2k)
