Creative Zen NX - probs, upgrades?
Son bought a Zen NX 30GB a month ago. His highly technical mate has already upgraded (I think) the OS. Same mate has just been to the US, says he met someone from Creative who said the old Jukebox 3 is far more stable and reliable than the Zen, which still has known problems.
a) Anyone recommend a good site for a 15 yr old to learn how to take care of his Zen - good, reliable advice, free downloads, etc?
b) Is his mate bullsh!tting or is there some truth, and should we be concerned? (Frankly, can't take it back now...)
Thanks

I bought a Creative Zen (20Gb) a few months ago, and it hasn't given me an ounce of trouble. I did, however, perform the 'OS' update within an hour or so of first using the unit, so I guess there might have been issues with the previous version (isn't it shared across the Creative range?).
The Apple iPod was on the original shopping list, but I was put off by all the tales of how unreliable/poor battery life the iPod is/has.
I wouldn't worry about it - mine gets used for about five hours a day (a looooooong commute to work!) and has worked like a dream. The Creative site should have all the files you need to update the unit, though.

I've been using my 60Gb zen for about a month now (for about 7 hours a day whilst sat at my desk at work). Not a single problem so far....

I have the 30gb Zen Nx, again I updated the bios. Only issue I had was that the battery was a bit loose. Just wedged a bit of card in
It runs 5 days a week for 3 hours a day, survives trips abroad and getting dropped etc.
