Virus from microsoft e-mail
just got this e-mail today from microsoft,
norton deleted the attachment with it as it detected a virus
is this e-mail genuine and is norton being over-protective, or is it a spam ???

edited to add, just got another identical e-mail, and again norton kicked in.

The email address has been spoofed.
Very Very easy to do...I showed some of the staff at work the other day, by sending and e-mail myself from "microsoft.com" and "thebossisaturd.com"
Any e-mail that is not from someone you personally know that tries to get you to open an attached file is very likely to be a virus. And norton has confirmed that by telling you!
Big corperations like microsoft will never send updates or tell you to look at attachments via e-mail.

has anyone found a way of stopping these e-mails which have been spoofed and contain virus's yet. I'm blocking every one that comes in which is subsequently blocking the genuine e-mail addresses.
