Default Best flying shoot 'em up demo?

Just got a Logitech joystick and want to try a flight sim. Thought I'd download one of the MS demos......but they don't seem to do demo's, lol

Can anyone recommend a good demo to download? I'd like to fly something (3 dimensions), and if I can shoot the hell out of something else at the same time, all the better

Thanks, Richard

Crimson Skies is a good one if you want a quick fly/shoot

Lock On Modern Air Combat - Not quite a shoot em up but not quite a hardcore sim like Falcon 4 either. You can configure it to easy flight, nav, weapons etc and it must be about the best looking GFX engine ever used in a fight sim\flying game.

The demo dl is at the right hand side of the page.

Battlefield 1942, and Desert Combat (a mod for BF1942), now you can fly the planes with a joystick. I give a thumbs up for lock-on but you need a hefty pc for it to run well.

If you want really accurate flight modelling, WW2 aircraft and online flying against 350-400 at a time, with scenarios based on actual WW2 events - then check out Aces High at www.hitechcreations.com

You can get a 10 day free trial - the software is only available via download (no gamebox version) - go to the training area and get 'proper' instruction from seasoned flyers (Lots of actual pilots still flying here)

But bear in mind - once you get the bug for this - you will be completely hooked and have no time for anything else !!

Look out for me - same handle
